Altruistic Teens Help UConn Health Grow Volunteer Program

Showcasing Summer Research
Summer Research Day celebrates accomplishments of student researchers. They were celebrated alongside their mentors and state legislators at this year’s Summer Research Day at the UConn Health campus in Farmington. The students—who participated in the Technology Incubation Program (TIP) Innovation Fellowship and Health Research Program—spent the past 10 weeks immersed in the world of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Improving Workplace Conditions: ‘For Staff, by Staff’
HITEC originated when researchers from UConn Health and UConn Storrs started working with correction workers, their bargaining units, and Department of Correction administration to form a workplace participatory program. It has since expanded to include health services, counseling, commissary officers, and much more.
Tackling the Future of Oral Health and Education
Dr. Sophia Saeed, associate dean for clinical affairs at the School of Dental Medicine, along with a group of deans and faculty members from dental schools across the country, has been appointed to tackle issues facing dental education and patient care on the American Dental Education Association’s (ADEA) Envisioning and Transforming the Future of Oral Health & Education task force.
