Undergraduate 6-year Graduation Rate (U.S. News)

Increasing the six-year graduation rate is critical to UConn’s commitment to student success, affordability, and national leadership. Graduating on time reduces student debt, improves career outcomes, and strengthens lifetime earnings. While UConn’s six-year graduation rate is already well above the national average of 63%, the University remains committed to further improving student outcomes and ensuring that more students graduate on time, ready to lead and thrive.

First-Generation 6-Year Graduation Rate

Recognized as a First-Gen Forward Institution for its national leadership in supporting first-generation student success, UConn offers a range of initiatives, including the First-Gen Society, a student organization that fosters community and support, and the First-Gen National Honor Society, which celebrates academic achievement. UConn’s efforts have produced strong results, with first-generation students graduating at rates far exceeding the national average of 42%.

3-year Masters Graduation Rate

UConn’s graduate programs are consistently ranked among the nation’s best by U.S. News & World Report, reflecting academic rigor, research excellence, and strong student outcomes.

Median Time to Degree by Ph.D. Program

Aligned with Envisioning 2034’s Student Success Journey, UConn is working to maintain and continue to improve Ph.D. time to degree. UConn’s graduate programs are consistently ranked among the nation’s best by U.S. News & World Report, reflecting academic rigor, research excellence, and strong student outcomes. 

Undergraduate Financial Aid Awards

Over the past five years, UConn has increased its total financial aid by nearly $100 million, while steadily raising the percentage of undergraduates who receive aid each year. To further ease financial barriers, UConn is holding tuition flat for the upcoming academic year, with no increases.

Total Research Awards

In alignment with Envisioning 2034’s Excellence in Research, Innovation, and Engagement, the University of Connecticut is expanding its research enterprise, recognizing that research excellence drives discovery, economic growth, and cross-sector innovation. UConn has expanded its internal seed funding programs to support researchers in securing larger external grants, including from the National Science Foundation. Research awards increased by more than $45 million in FY24 compared to FY23—bringing UConn closer to its 2030 goal of $500 million in total annual research funding.

Endowment Market Value

Aligned with Envisioning 2034’s Husky Pride and Resilience focus area, the University of Connecticut together with the UConn Foundation is working to grow the university’s endowment. Achieving this goal will strengthen UConn’s financial sustainability while supporting institutional growth and innovation. In FY23, the UConn Foundation led a successful fundraising effort, raising over $47 million for academic programs and more than $55 million for scholarships and fellowships.

UConn Foundation Total Dollars Raised

In fiscal year 2024, the UConn Foundation saw its third consecutive year of over $100 million in total reported fundraising. This growth has allowed the Foundation to expand its support for University programs, dedicating over $50 million to students, faculty, research, capital projects, and other UConn initiatives – a 7% increase from the prior year.

Donors endowed nearly four dozen new funds in fiscal 2024. Their generosity ensures there is ongoing, vital support for the student scholarships, research, medical breakthroughs, and programs that help UConn achieve academic excellence.

Greenhouse Gas Emissions

UConn was ranked the 10th most sustainable university in the world by UI GreenMetric, which evaluates 1,477 universities across 95 countries for their sustainability performance. The university also earned a place in the Princeton Review’s Top 50 Green Colleges and received a Gold rating from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). Committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2030, UConn integrates sustainability into its academics, operations, and student life.
